It was a pleasure to have former BI intern Savannah Richardson join me today at practice. Savannah will be assuming her new role as a sports reporter for the Brunswick News in the coming days. The following are her notes from her first day of 2019 Spring Practice:

First time seeing the team in person since the Sugar Bowl and I’m impressed with a lot of the younger guys.

Ro–I mean Nakobe Dean is a FREAK. He is so dang strong and quick. Looked like he’s been out there for a year or more.

Nolan Smith looks like a grown man and took the first rep on every drill I watched him do.

I liked Jermaine Johnson’s efforts during the drills as well.

Tommy Bush and Matt Landers both look like they’ve added some weight finally.. Both caught the balls their way.

I think that we’re all going to be pleasantly surprised with James Cook this year. He’s twitchy and so much fun to watch. He looked like he put on some weight too.

D-Rob looked a lot more comfortable in the drills and stuff than he did last season. And looked so fast…

OL looks huge, DL looks solid

I Missed this and it was soo good to see these young guys get to work. 4/20 will be a good one!

Here are a few things I noticed:

There were a few summer enrollees watching practice. I saw Dominick Blaylock and Eli Wolff

Stetson Bennett continue to impress with his throwing during drills. Apparently, he is a favorite with his teammates also. They invariably smile and speak glowingly when asked about him.

The first team offensive line from left to right appeared to be:
Andrew Thomas, Solomon Kindley, Trey Hill, Jamaree Salyer and Isaiah Wilson. Salyer is definitely moving up in the rotation. Kirby Smart has mentioned him recently and, as you can see, his efforts are being rewarded.

Demetris Robertson is having a very good camp according to reports. He looks bigger and faster and is making some spectacular catches during observation periods.
