Captain Obvious here with breaking news – Georgia was not ready to play Missouri Saturday morning! The fire was not completely out but there was definitely a lack of fuel to bring the offense to a roaring boil. At least, the defense kept the team in the lead until the offense could get some steam in the boiler in the second half.
 
 
This was a game that a less talented UGA team would have lost. Big plays executed by big talents allowed the Bulldogs to overcome the upset bid of an underrated Missouri squad. One thing is certain. If this malaise is not cured, UGA may watch Kentucky playing in the SEC Championship. But this is Kirby Smart’s team and his team is going to get an object lesson in concentration and execution beginning with Monday’s practice. The old saying in coaching is, ‘you are either coaching it or allowing it to happen.’ Kirby is not coaching it and I’d bet money that the team will learn this week that he is not allowing it either.
 
 
I am supremely confident that no more Bulldogs will drop a football before crossing the goal line – ever again! After what I heard about the running that resulted from the last incident, I was shocked that it happened the second time. More running is obviously required to hammer home the point.
 
 
Tennesse will take heart from Missouri’s performance, but my prediction is their hearts will be broken by a Georgia team that comes out of the West Endzone with a full head of steam next Saturday.
 
 
The Dawgs have gotten their wake-up call.
