The first three rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft came and went, and Jake Fromm was still waiting to hear his name called. So did the fourth round, but then that call finally came on Saturday with the 22nd pick of the fifth round (167th overall) by the Buffalo Bills.

Fromm made his way to Athens and UGA signing with the Bulldogs as part of their 2017 recruiting class out of Houston County High School in Warner Robins. He competed with former Georgia quarterback Jacob Eason for the start in 2017 with Eason edging out Fromm. Fate would intervene and Fromm would come in off the bench for an injured Eason in the first game of the season. Since the 6:06 mark of the first quarter of that Appalachian State game on September 2, 2017, the starting quarterback for Georgia has been sure and steady Jake Fromm.
For the past three seasons, Fromm has started 42 straight games for the Bulldogs completing 621 of 982 passes for 8,224 yards and 78 touchdowns to just 18 interceptions.
Now, Fromm looks to test his arm and his mettle in the Pros. His journey has taken him from Warner Robins to Athens to Buffalo, New York.
So far, through five rounds, Georgia has seen five Bulldogs get their names called in the 2020 NFL Draft in addition to Fromm. On Thursday night, offensive tackles Andrew Thomas and Isaiah Wilson both went in the first round with Thomas being picked fourth overall by the New York Giants and Wilson 29th overall by the Tennessee Titans. Running back D’Andre Swift was next and the first and only Georgia player taken on Friday night in the second round with the third pick by the Detroit Lions. Offensive guard Solomon Kindley was the first Dawg off of the board on Saturday afternoon, selected in the fourth round with the fifth pick of the day by the Miami Dolphins.
As he has done with the other four Bulldog draftees, head coach Kirby Smart released a video clip on Twitter sharing his thoughts on his former starting quarterback’s time at the University of Georgia.
So thankful for all the memories you’ve given us, @FrommJake! Wishing you the best on this next great step in your journey !! pic.twitter.com/aByJh4fc39
