GEORGIA vs. MISSOURI MATCHUP
Georgia takes on Missouri for just the eighth matchup of the series. The Bulldogs lead 6-1 with the only loss coming in 2013 when Georgia fell to the Tigers 41-26 in Athens. Georgia and Missouri have something unique in common. Kirby Smart and Barry Odem are two of 10 FBS coaches who coach at their alma mater. Both teams rank among the top scoring offenses in the SEC. Georgia ranks as the No. 1 scoring defense allowing just eight points a game. Missouri ranks as the No. 2 in the league in total offense with 589 total yards a game. The Tigers lead the SEC in pass offense as well with 389 yards a game.
Missouri’s got one of the best quarterbacks in the SEC with senior Drew Lock. He leads the SEC in total offense and passing and ranks sixth in the SEC history with 82 touchdowns. One of his favorite targets, Emmanuel Hall, leads the SEC averaging 143.3 yards a game. For the Bulldogs, Jake Fromm leads the nation in completion percentage completing 80 percent of his passes. The Bulldogs ranks No.1 nationally in completion percentage at 81 percent as freshman Justin Fields is 14-of-18 on the season.
Both teams have tons of offensive weapons each quarterback can throw or hand off to. The Bulldogs average 45 points a game while the Tigers average 43.7 points. Georgia’s on pace to average the most points per game in the schools’ history. The record right now is 37.8 points in 14 games in 2012.
