GEORGIA vs. SOUTH CAROLINA MATCHUP

Georgia leads the Gamecocks in the all-time series 50-18-2. The first-ever game between these two was in 1894. The Bulldogs have won the last three meetings. In 2014, USC defeated UGA 38-35 in Columbia. Georgia defeated the Bulldogs crushed the Gamecocks 52-20 in 2015. That was the game that then starting quarterback, Greyson Lambert set an NCAA record. He completed 24-25 for 330 yards and three touchdowns. His completion percentage was 96 percent.
The last trip to Columbia in 2016 ended with a 28-14 Georgia win. This game was postponed to that Sunday because of Hurricane Matthew. Georgia played in its first-ever regular season game on a Sunday. The Bulldogs rushed for 326 yards. Sony Michel ran for 133, Nick Chubb ran for 121 and Brian Herrien rounded it out with 82 yards. Georgia’s defense posted five sacks and forced three turnovers.
Last season Georgia rolled over South Carolina 24-10. The Bulldogs improved its record to 9-0 after this win and continued onto win the SEC Championship and eventually play in the National Championship. Jake Fromm went 16-22 for 196 yards and two touchdowns. Chubb carried the ball for 102 yards on 20 carries. The game played in November and was only the second times it happened that late in the season. The first time was in 1939 on November 18 where Georgia won 33-7.
