The last few months for Georgia’s college football recruiting has been a roller coaster ride of commitments, near commitments and de-commitments, but the Bulldogs close out the month of May on a high note with Jaevon Becton announcing his decision to “commit to the G” on Wednesday night.

 

 
 
Becton is out of Virginia Beach, VA where he plays at defensive end and tight end for the Ocean Lakes high school football team. He is a 6 foot 4 and 245 lbs weakside defensive end/ outside linebacker class of 2018 prospect. Becton is ranked by 247Sports, ESPN, Rivals, and Scout as a three-star player and 247’s compostie ranking has him as a top-50 WDE in the country and a top-20 player from the state of Virginia.
 
 
The talented end has over 15 scholarship offers, including from programs Virginia Tech and West Virginia from his home state. UGA offered Becton back on November 25, 2016, and one of the keys in his recruitment to Georgia was tight end coach and special teams coordinator Shane Beamer, who is a former Virginia Tech assistant and knows the Old Dominion state well. With Becton’s committment, the Bulldogs are back to three for 2018 along with kicker/punter Jake Camarda and defensive back Chris Smith II. And don’t let that three-star rating fool you.
