On Monday, April 1st, the Georgia Bulldogs played in a rubber match of the SEC series against Arkansas. The third-ranked team, the Georgia Bulldogs, were defeated by the twentieth-ranked team, the Arkansas Razorbacks, in the final matchup of their series, losing 8-2.

The Arkansas Razorbacks made a comeback in the fifth inning on an RBI base hit, which put them up 2-3.
In the seventh inning, Lilli Backes pitched for the Bulldogs. Arkansas’ Lauren Camenzind singled to the right center, advanced and scored another point (2-4). Hannah Gammill hit a homerun to the left field for the Razorbacks, allowing Kennedy Miller, Bri Ellis, and Reagan Johnson to score four more points (2-8). The Bulldogs could not keep up the momentum and did not score in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The game ended with a score of 2-8. Arkansas had eight runs and ten hits. Georgia had two runs and five hits. Georgia Head Coach Tony Baldwin said the team “just didn’t win enough of the moments to turn it into our favor.” Georgia Bulldog Jayda Kearney said the team “fought hard” and “gave it their all.”
The Bulldogs play Mercer University at the Turner Stadium at 6 pm this Wednesday. Coach Turner said the team will rest up for the game and “be back and ready to go for Wednesday and Tennessee this weekend.”
