[su_spacer size=”20″] The No. 2 Georgia equestrian team picked up its second win of the weekend, downing No. 4 TCU 10-5. The meet was the last of regular season competition for the Bulldogs, who are now 9-4.

 

“This was another great day for our team,” said head coach Meghan Boenig. “It was a good note to end our season on. I’m proud of the way we rode and I believe we’ll continue to build on this going into SEC’s and national’s.”

 

In addition to the win, Georgia picked up all four MOP honors: Kylee Arbuckle (Equitation on the Flat), Liza Finsness (Equitation Over Fences), Sara Parr (Horsemanship) and Kyndall Harper (Reining).

 

In Equitation on the Flat, the Bulldogs used a 3-1 decision to defeat the Horned Frogs. While TCU took the first point, Finsness answered with a 92-80 victory. Arbuckle was up next, delivering an MOP-earning 95-74 decision. Gleeson capped off the event, defeating her opponent 85-80.

 

The Georgia Horsemanship squad took a 2-1 victory led by Parr who defeated her opponent 75-68.5 and was awarded MOP honors. Kolb took the next point with a 74-71 win before Anderson rode to a 75.5-point tie with Colby Plott. TCU was able to earn the final point of the event.

 

The Bulldogs continued their momentum in Equitation Over Fences, defeating the Horned Frogs 3-1. Finsness led the charge with an 85-78 decision for which she earned MOP honors. Arbuckle followed with an 80-73 victory. TCU’s Kaitlin Perry picked up the lone point of the event for the Horned Frogs. Meg O’Mara defeated Molly Peddicord for the final point.

 

Georgia and TCU tied in Reining with two points apiece. Lauren Garmon picked up the first point, outscoring Shelby St. Hilaire 70-67. TCU scored the next points. Harper evened the score with an MOP-earning 70-69 victory. At the conclusion of the meet, Georgia topped TCU 10-5.

 

The Georgia equestrian team will now turn their sights to the Southeastern Championship. The championship will take place March 27-28 in College Station, Texas. ​
