[su_spacer size=”20″] The Georgia equestrian team has received the No. 1 seed for the Southeastern Conference Championship. The Bulldogs concluded the regular season with a 9-4 record, which includes a 4-2 record in SEC play. The championship will take place March 27-28 at the Hildebrand Equestrian Complex in College Station, Texas.

Seeding for the SEC Equestrian Championships is determined by conference winning percentage at the conclusion of a six-meet conference regular season schedule for each team, during which each squad faces every SEC foe home and away. In the semifinal round of competition on March 27, the No. 1 and No. 4 seed will face off, as well as the No. 3 and 4 seed. The two losing teams will meet in a consolation round the following day. The two winning teams from the semifinals will then meet in the championship finals on March 28.

South Carolina will be the No. 2 seed with a 4-2 SEC record and 9-3 overall record. Texas A&M is the No. 3 seed and will enter the championship with a 7-5 record, including a 3-3 mark in SEC action. Auburn checks in as the No. 4 seed and owns a 6-6 record and 1-5 notch in the SEC.
