The Georgia equestrian team has received the No. 2 seed for the Southeastern Conference Championship. The Bulldogs concluded the regular season with a 10-2 record, which includes a 4-2 record in SEC play. Georgia will host the championship, which will take place March 25-26 at the UGA Equestrian Complex in Bishop, Ga.
Seeding for the SEC Equestrian Championships is determined by conference winning percentage at the conclusion of a six-meet conference regular season schedule for each team, during which each squad faces every SEC foe home and away. In the semifinal round of competition on March 25, the No. 1 and No. 4 seed will face off, as well as the No. 2 and 3 seed. The two losing teams will meet in a consolation round the following day. The two winning teams from the semifinals will then meet in the championship finals on March 26.
Auburn will be the No. 1 seed with a 5-1 SEC record and 11-1 overall record. Texas A&M is the No. 3 seed and currently holds a 9-3 record, including a 3-3 mark in SEC action. South Carolina checks in as the No. 4 seed and owns a 4-9 record and 0-6 notch in the SEC.
