The Georgia equestrian team will kickoff the spring portion of its schedule with a double-meet weekend in Martin, Tennessee. The team will face both UT-Martin and Kansas State on Friday, January 30 at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Pavilion. The meets will run concurrently and are slated for a 10 a.m. CT start. Georgia enters the meet with a 2-3 record, while UT-Martin holds a 4-6 record. Kansas State is currently 5-4 on the season.

“We are excited to get the spring rolling,” said head coach Meghan Boenig. “We will be traveling a lot and I think that is the best way to prepare for post-season competition. Both UT-Martin and Kansas State are great teams that will test our abilities. This weekend will be a good indicator of where we stand on the road to the national championship.”

Highlights of the fall competitions included an 11-9 decision over South Carolina on the road in the season opener. Georgia also handed Auburn a 13-6 loss at the UGA Equestrian Complex in Bishop, Ga.

In each of the five meets played this year, the Bulldogs have earned at least two Most Valuable Player awards. Georgia riders have a combined 12 MVPs on the season thus far.

The team also picked up several conference and national awards. Paige Stawicki (Horsemanship) and Kyndall Harper (Reining) received NCEA and SEC Rider of the Month accolades for the month of October. Both Stawicki and Harper owned an unblemished 3-0 record and earned two MVPs apiece. In November, Stawicki was named as the SEC Rider of the Month once again after posting a 2-0 record and one MVP.
