Georgia Fails To Sweep Texas A&M

The 17th-ranked Georgia Bulldogs fell short of sweeping the series against Texas A&M by suffering a tough 16-8 loss in six innings on Sunday afternoon at Jack Turner Stadium.

“It was a disappointing performance, really on all phases of the game. There were some good things, some bright spots,” said Head Coach Tony Baldwin.

The Aggies struck first by putting up six runs in the first inning. Two bases-loaded walks and a grand slam put the Aggies ahead early and fast. Starting pitcher Madison Kerpics exited the game after the six runs and Lauren Mathis entered to end the inning for the Bulldogs.

Georgia then loaded the bases and Aniyah Black was walked to bring in another run for the Bulldogs, putting another run up.

In the top of the second, Texas A&M had a two-run homer to extend their lead to 8-2.
