On Wednesday, the Georgia Football team was once again preaching tempo and head coach Kirby Smart was spending a lot of time with a position group that he usually does not spend the majority of his time with.

 

Defense
 
Kirby Smart was seen putting a lot of work in with the outside linebackers which is unusual as he seems to spend the majority of his time with the safeties. Smart seemed to be working on RPO recognition with the outside linebackers and from what I could see, he was very pleased.
 
 
The defensive line continued to work on their burst and leverage and defensive line coach Tray Scott was more than pleased with his group’s showing as each and every rep ended with a resounding “Good!” each and every time. They also worked on their stunts drills and Scott encouraged his guys to “Rip and stay tight,” throughout the drill.
 
 
The inside linebackers saw Roquan Smith and Natrez Patrick taking the first reps followed by Reggie Carter and Juwan Taylor next up. Patrick is expected to return this week after serving a four-game suspension for a marijuana charge.
 
 
The defense did not seem to be missing any players except for Rashad Rountree, who was out there in street clothes.
 
 
Offense
 
Terry Godwin was the only player who seemed to be working through an injury as his thumb was still wrapped up, but he looked very smooth throughout practice and it did not seem to be hindering his performance at all. The wide receivers were very consistent today and I believe I only saw one drop in the media’s open period.
 
 
Offensive coordinator Jim Chaney was very vocal with his wide receivers and was telling them constantly to pick it up and hustle. Both Jake Fromm and Jacob Eason looked very sharp throwing the ball and they did a great job of hitting wide receivers right as they got out of their cuts.
 
 
Also, there was a New Orleans Saints scout present at practice today.
 
 
Overall, the tempo was very high at the Bulldogs’ practice and on pace with how the majority of Georgia’s practices have been run.
