Georgia kept it business as usual on Tuesday as the team continued to prepare for the SEC Championship. Kirby Smart ran an intense practice just as he has done so for each previous practice over the 2017 college football season. There wasn’t fake motivation, coaches yelling, or anything similar. The team just ran practice like it was another week. During the media period, here are two things that stood out to me.

 

Confident Quarterback:

I kept an eye out on Jake Fromm during the media period, and the freshman seemed confident. He hollered and threw some of the prettiest passes I’ve seen him throw this season. His first pass to Javon Wims just landed right in the senior wideout’s hands perfectly. None of his passes were off the mark, and every receiver made the effort to catch what was thrown their way.

Fromm seemed cool as a cucumber and confident. After losing his confidence some against Auburn last time, it was good to see the young gunslinger back to his self. Not saying he was ever unconfident this season, but he just seemed perky and ready to play on Tuesday.
 

Offensive Line Preps for Powerful D-Line:

Sam Pittman’s offensive line seemed to be the most intense group at practice. He yelled at his unit to “Lift! Lift!” Pittman told the guys this while they were working on a double team drill. He critiqued the guys during every drill and had them run a lot of different drills during the periods. Pittman kept the O-line on their toes and forced them to strive for perfection. Then Pittman had the line work on cut blocks urging them to, “get your a– on the ground,” using a colorful expletive to describe each of the big men’s posteriors.
 

Bits and Pieces:

 
Business, as usual, appears to be the plan and Smart’s sticking to it. He believes that if you practice each week hard the results on Saturday will be what the team wants. Tough, physical football is Smart’s process and the team stuck to it. Like I said before, there were no changes at all, and every time the media speaks to Smart he says the same thing, prepare each week like its another week, don’t make it different because of the opponent or the game.

Another thing to note is that Deangelo Gibbs appeared to not be at practice. However, Smart let the media know in his press conference that he was in fact there and participated, but the media just overlooked him.
