Savannah’s Offensive Report
Quick Injury Report
- Still no Jackson Harris at practice
— Terry Godwin, Kearis Jackson and Jayson Stanley all practiced without limitations.
— Dell McGee had his running backs work on some blocking along with catching passes out of the backfield.
— Jake Fromm and company worked on some fundamentals while we were out there. When we first got out there, they were in 7v7 and he made a nice pass to Riley Ridley.
— Spent a good time watching the tight ends today and I must say that coach Jim Chaney is extremely hard on this group. He yelled, “Every dang day we do this same crap. Get lined up!!! Let’s go to work guys! DO NO WAST A REP!!!”

Steve’s Defense Report

— The second we got out there the speakers were blasting artificial crowd noise while the offense and defense scrimmaged. I literally only saw one snap of this and it was a pass deflection by David Marshall against Justin Fields. Right after the horn blew and the team rotated to different drills, but Kirby yelled out, “Composure! Composure! Composure!”
— Tyrique McGhee was full go in today’s practice. No brace on his foot that was injured.
— Divaad Wilson was in the IPF still recovering from his knee injury. I’m still not exactly sure when he will return.
— Chris Smith was also in the IPF working alongside Divaad Wilson.
— The intensity was high today and you saw that from every defensive coach.
— Mel Tucker had a good quote today, “Control your guy! Use those hands and strike!” He knows how important it is to have this group ready going into Columbia. Jake Bentley and the South Carolina receivers are going to be hard to handle for this young but talented secondary.
