The University of Georgia has celebrated a couple of birthdays over the last couple of weeks, and the most recent one was yesterday as the Georgia football program turned the big ‘ole 125.

 
Over a century after UGA was founded, the year of 1892 gave birth to what we know today as Georgia Bulldogs football. John Frierson dives into the history and a red and black time machine to talk about the Dawgs very first collegiate football game back on January 30th, 1892.
 
 

 
 
In those 125 wonderful years, UGA has played over 1,194 football games and post a 769-395-50 record. The Bulldogs have won 14 conference championship, 12 of those Southeastern Conference titles, and claim two consensus College Football National Championships (1942 and 1980). Georgia football has produced two Heisman Trophy winners in that time frame in Frank Sinkwich (1942) and Herschel Walker (1982).
