Profession: I am the new and proud owner of the amazing gift and antique shop, Appointments at Five. The store was opened 36 years ago by two of Athens’ greats, Kitty Culpepper and Jenny Sligh, and as an Athens native I am honored to continue the tradition. I took over the reins in September of 2023 and have been working hard ever since to put my own touch on the store. I love helping our customers whether it’s finding a gift for hosting, birthdays or babies, helping a couple pick out their wedding china or finding the perfect antique chest for their home. Stop by to see how we’ve mixed the old and new and updated this Athens classic. Also, be sure to follow us on Instagram, Facebook and shop online at Appointments at Five
While no official accolades yet, I consider it a major accomplishment to have taken over an established business especially in a town like Athens at the age of 24! It isn’t always easy but I am so excited for what the future holds. Hoping for another 36 years of Appointments at Five!

Shops: Amelia’s, and of course, Appointments at Five!

Memory while in school: Gamedays in Athens are unbeatable! I loved jumping in the car with all my roommates and riding with the windows down singing “Teenage Wasteland” headed to Chick-Fil-A to pick up breakfast then heading back to our house to pop open the champagne, make a mimosa and get ready for a day of tailgating and cheering on the Dawgs!
Professor/class: Julie Carbaugh! She believed in me and always looked out for me even beyond the classroom.
Gameday ritual/plan: Love keeping the doors to the store open on Gamedays, getting all the foot traffic and helping with last minute tailgating needs, then heading down to tailgate and the game to cheer on the Dawgs with family and friends!
