Georgia Girls: Jessica Jones

Name: Jessica Jones

Family: My parents Robert Jones and Trudy Blake

Hometown: Brunswick, Georgia

Current Town:   Athens, Georgia

What Years at UGA: 2011-2018

School/Degree: College of Education – Sports Management

Profession: As a die hard Georgia fan and alum, I always enjoyed the atmosphere of game day. Now, being a part of Game Day is my full time job. I work with the University as a part of RevelXP to create ELITE tailgate experiences for die hards like me. Now I get to experience Saturdays in Athens with the best fans in the land!

Book: Just finished Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by VE Schwab! One of my favorite authors and she didn’t disappoint.

Magazine: May be a bit biased but, Bulldawg Illustrated always keeps me up to date on the latest!

Podcast: If I need a laugh, Distractible and My Brother My Brother & Me always have me dying! Then for something different, Last Podcast on the Left.

Instagram: @‌wetheurban – great affirmations for the day, week or even month! Always starts me off right!

Brand: Really been loving Hokas lately!

Fashion designer: Christian Siriano – love his uniqueness and eye for glam!

Chef: Nothing beats a homemade meal, so have to say my parents. They make me try out new recipes in the hopes of re-creating.

Historical figure: Steve Irwin – my childhood hero who made me appreciate and love animals as much as I do! He was the reason I wanted to be a vet when I was younger, but life had other plans.

Quote: Hakuna Matata.

Describe Athens in five words or less: Nothing finer in the land!

Restaurants and bars: Five Bar, Trappeze, and The Globe!

Shops: Cheeky Peach.

Athens/campus landmark: Definitely the Arch, but also North Campus is always stunning!

Memory while in school: Going to the Rose Bowl with my best friend!

Professor/class: Sports Law with Professor Baker – sounds crazy, but he made the class super interesting and fun!

Gameday ritual/plan: My parents and I always text “Go Dawgs!” right before kick off! Then at half time, I always chat with my dad the 2nd half ‘game plan’ for the team. If I am going to a game, I always wear black. All superstitious things that I swear to you, if we don’t do them, it is disaster.

Tailgate Recipe: It’s not a Game Day without a nice grilled burger and a yummy dip!
