Jalen Perry became the second 2019 prospect to de-commit from the Bulldogs this week. On his 247Sports profile, Perry holds 20 offers and initially committed to the Bulldogs on and ranks as the No. 18 CB and the No. 20 prospect in Georgia. 

Perry posted a message on his personal Twitter making his announcement to reopen his recruitment.

“After much prayer and many conversations with my family, I have decided to de-commit from the University of Georgia and reopen my recruitment,” Perry comments. “This is an extremely tough decision to make, and I want to thank Coach Smart and the entire UGA coaching staff for building a relationship with me and giving me an opportunity. My decision to reopen my recruitment is not a negative reflection of UGA’s players, coaches, or fans. I ask that you please respect my decision as I follow God’s plan for this next step in my life. Thank you.”

He marks the second commitment to back off their pledge in the last three days. The first was five-star WR Jadon Haselwood who de-committed from the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Georgia now has 17 commits and has the No. 3 recruiting class in the country. The Bulldogs have a 93.50 average ranking per commitment.
