The Georgia men’s basketball team are on the road for a Tuesday night SEC showdown in Lexington with No.8 Kentucky.

The date with the Wildcats is the fourth of five road games the Bulldogs will play in a seven-game SEC stretch. The span has included trips to Ole Miss, Florida and Texas A&M and will conclude with a date at South Carolina this Saturday.

The Bulldogs are 13-8 overall and 4-4 in SEC play. Last Saturday, Georgia rallied from a double-digit deficit to top Texas, 59-57, in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.

Yante Maten leads Georgia in both scoring (19.7 ppg) and rebounding (7.7 rpg). Among SEC leaders, he is second in scoring and third in rebounding. Maten also ranks second in the league in double-doubles with five.

J.J. Frazier is contributing 15.5 ppg (No. 9 in the SEC). He leads the SEC and ranks No. 23 nationally in free throw percentage at .892, and his team-best averages of 2.0 steals and 4.2 assists rank second and sixth in the SEC.

Maten, a junior forward, and Frazier, a senior guard, are one of the nation’s most potent inside-outside offensive tandems. Their combined average of 35.2 ppg ranks No. 6 nationally among guard-forward scoring duos with both players ranked among the nation’s top-250 scorers. They are the only teammates in the top-10 from a Power 5 conference.

In statistics for conference games only, Maten and Frazier currently rank No. 3 and No. 4 in the SEC in scoring at 19.5 ppg and 16.4 ppg, respectively.

Juwan Parker, who has been Georgia’s third-leading scorer for the majority of the season, is on a tear of late. Parker averaged 8.0 ppg in non-conference play but is contributing 12.1 ppg in league action. That has upped his season average to 9.7 ppg.

Kentucky is currently 17-4 overall and 7-1 in league play.

Malik Monk averages an SEC-high 21.7 ppg, one of four Wildcats ranked among the league’s top-20 scorers. De’Aaron Fox is contributing 15.9 ppg (No. 6 in the SEC), while Isaiah Briscoe adds 14.0 ppg (No. 13 in the SEC) and Bam Adebayo chips in 14.0 ppg (No. 19 in the SEC).

UK leads the all-time series with UGA, 121-26, including a 59-5 edge in games played in Lexington.

Among active SEC players, J.J. Frazier is No. 2 in points (1,314), No. 2 in assists (370), No. 3 in steals (143) and No. 10 in rebounds (382).
