Three pitchers and 14 hits later, Georgia’s lack of defense allowed the Tigers to capitalize and defeat the Bulldogs 13-4. Georgia’s pitching struggles continued in game two of the series.
 
 
Georgia starting pitcher, Mary Wilson Avant pitched two full innings giving up five hits and five runs. She walked three batters and collected one strikeout. Avant’s reliever was freshman Amanda Ablan. She pitched 1.1 innings and gave up three hits and four runs. Ablan recorded one strikeout and walked four batters.
 
 

 
 
Kylie Bass came in for Ablan during the fourth to stop the bleeding. She threw 3.2 innings striking out five batters and walked one. Bass gave up five hits and four runs. Bass gave up two home runs. However, Avant received the loss, and her record goes to 5-4 on the season.
 
 
Auburn struck first in the game with a solo home run from the leadoff batter, Carlee Wallace. Georgia quickly answered with a Lacey Sumerlin RBI to send Cortni Emanuel to score. After Maeve McGuire had reached with a hit by pitch, Brea Dickey hit a dinger to left field sending Sumerlin into score Georgia’s second run of the game.
 
 
Georgia just couldn’t get any momentum going throughout the matchup. After a quick start in the first inning, the Bulldogs went cold. The team tallied three hits before the fifth inning. Georgia’s defense had no answer for the potent Auburn bats. The Tigers scored in the top of the second off a three RBI triple by Wallace to make it 4-2. Two batters later, Shea Courtney hit a fly to center, sending Wallace home giving Auburn a 5-2 lead.
 
 

 
 
Georgia held the Auburn offense in the top of the third, but couldn’t produce any momentum on the offensive side. Sumerlin gave Georgia a spark with a single. Alyssa DiCarlo followed her and hit a ball to the third baseman resulting in a double play. After a hit-by-pitch for McGuire and a walk for Dickey, Mahlena O’Neal then grounded out to third, ending the inning.
 
 
Auburn continued its offense surge into the fourth inning, quickly loaded the bases. Next, Ablan walked the batter, sending a runner home. The Tigers scored two more runs after a DiCarlo error. Bass came in to finish the inning, striking one out. Sydni Emanuel closed the inning catching a fly ball in right field.
 
 
The Tigers scored again in the top of the fifth on a solo home run. Bass quickly ended the frame striking out the next two batters.
 
 
Georgia opened the bottom of the fifth with a ground out by Cortni Emanuel. However, Sumerlin hit a single to reach again. DiCarlo followed with a two-ball two-strike home run inside the left-field foul pole. McGuire followed with a double and Dickey with a single, O’Neal and Kendall Burton committed the last two outs leaving two in scoring position.
 
 
The late surge wasn’t enough for the Bulldogs. Georgia’s defense held Auburn in the sixth, but couldn’t produce any runs. The Tigers came in the seventh with a couple of singles setting up a Kendall Veach three-run homer making it 13-4.
 
 

 
 
Georgia left a total of nine on base during the game. Granted, Auburn left 12 on base, but Georgia just couldn’t get the bats to produce enough runs to offset Auburn’s offense.
