Georgia Softball won its 17th straight game on Sunday against UNCG 6-1. Since the one loss against Oregon, the Bulldogs have three-straight 5-0 weekends. Georgia outscored opponents 111-5 in 14 home games. 

During Sunday’s game, Kylie Bass recorded her third-straight one-hit contests. She improved to 6-0 on the season. Her reliever, Lauren Mathis closed the game out with two scoreless innings.

Kendall Burton and Ciara Bryan capped an impressive weekend at the plate with three hits each. Burton led Georgia with a 7-for-12, a .583 clip on the weekend. Bryant hit 8-for-14 on the weekend and had a .571 average.

Georgia came out guns blazing as it established a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Burton crushed a base hit through the left side of the infield. Then came up slugger, Alyssa DiCarlo came up to bat, and sent one sailing over the right-field fence. Alysen Febrey followed DiCarlo with a base hit up the right side, setting up yet another two-run home run, from Bryan.

The Bulldogs added one run in the fifth inning started by a Jessica Morgan walk. Pinch runner Tiffani Railey advanced to second and third with a stolen base. Cortni Emanuel ground ball up the right side, before crossing home on an infield base hit from Burton.

Georgia’s bat stayed hot through the third inning with a two-out Bryan single to right field. Mahlena O’Neal tallied an RBI base hit into left field, scoring Bryan, giving Georgia the 6-0 advantage.

UNCG scored the first run against Bass since the juniors first appearance this season against Oregon.

Georgia faces in-state rival Georgia Tech to Jack Turner Stadium on Tuesday at 6 p.m. Then the Bulldogs play host to Western Carolina for a second mid-week game on Wednesday at 5 p.m. Finally, Arkansas heads to the Classic City for the first SEC weekend on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. First pitch on Saturday will be at 5 p.m.
