The eighth-ranked Georgia softball team is set for a weekend tilt with Southeastern Conference foe Arkansas this weekend, March 20-22, at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens, Ga. The Bulldogs enter the weekend fresh off a 14-0 win over Georgia Tech that moved their record to 25-5 that includes a 3-3 mark in the SEC. The Razorbacks are 13-14 on the year and 0-3 in league play.

[su_spacer size=”10″] Alex Hugo, Georgia’s team leaders in home runs, recorded the first grand slam of the season in the 14-0 win over Georgia Tech. It is the first grand slam of her Georgia career and the first hit since 2014 against Alabama.

[su_spacer size=”10″] Hugo recorded two home runs in Georgia’s 14-0 win over Georgia Tech on Wednesday. It is the first time since coming to Georgia that she has hit two home runs in a single game.

[su_spacer size=”10″] Sydni Emanuel continued to show that she is a tough out. The sophomore went 3-for-3 at the plate and was hit by a pitch to reach base in all four plate appearances. It was the first time she has been hit by a pitch all season. She also scored four runs in the game, marking the first time since 2013 that a Georgia player has scored four times in a single game.

[su_spacer size=”10″] Georgia’s 1-2-3 hitters have proven difficult to get out. The Bulldogs have put at least one of its first three batters on in the first inning in all but three games this season.
