Georgia vs Auburn softball: The second-ranked Tigers’ bats became too much, as the felines from the plains (44-5, 14-3) took a 13-2 win in five innings over the No. 12 Bulldogs (37-12, 9-8) on Saturday, handing the Dawgs their second loss in a row.

Brittany Gray (10-7) took the loss after going 2.2 innings with seven hits allowed and nine runs—two earned—against her. The sophomore walked four and struck out three. Kylie Bass finished the game, giving up two hits, four runs and two walks to go with two strikeouts.

Georgia took six hits off of Auburn starter Makayla Martin (11-0) and two from reliever Rachael Walters. Sydni Emanuel and Cortni Emanuel led the Bulldogs with three and two hits, respectively, while Maeve McGuire hit her eighth home run of the season.

With bases loaded in the first inning, a two-out two-RBI single for Madi Gipson put Auburn with the early advantage. McGuire’s home run followed in the second to cut the deficit to 2-1.

The game broke open for the Tigers in the bottom half of the second, as the Bulldogs were facing bases loaded and two outs. A fielding error brought in the first run while a two-RBI single from Carlee Wallace made it 5-1. The lead expanded in the third, as four runs came in off of two hits and an error.

A bases-loaded walk to Alex Hugo let Georgia put it at a 9-2 ballgame, but Auburn put up its second four-run inning to seal the win at 13-2.

The series finishes up on Sunday with a 5 p.m. ET contest. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network+/WatchESPN.
