Logan Shore pitched a complete game two-hitter to lead second-ranked Florida to a 6-0 win over Georgia Friday at McKethan Stadium.
 
 
The Gators (35-6, 12-5 SEC) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first, taking advantage of a leadoff error, two walks and three stolen bases.  Freshman Jonathan India had a two-run single and junior Buddy Reed stole home to highlight the outburst. In the second, the Gators added an unearned run on another Bulldog miscue. A sacrifice fly by Dalton Guthrie in the sixth made it 6-0.
 
 
Shore faced the minimum 27 batters with the help of a couple of double plays and ran his record to 8-0. Bulldog junior left-hander Connor Jones dropped to 5-3, surrendering six runs (three earned) on seven hits in six innings with a career-high eight strikeouts. The Bulldogs fell to 21-19 (7-10 SEC).
 
 
“Florida played extremely well;  they pitched and played defense, and the first inning was a poor inning for us,” Ike Cousins Georgia baseball coach Scott Stricklin said. “He (Shore) looked like Greg Maddux, the way he was able to move the ball in and out and mixed his breaking ball and change up. I thought after the first inning, Connor (Jones) settled in, and we’ve been working with him on holding runners and that’s something that Florida took advantage of tonight. We need to make more plays and execute better offensively too.”
 
 
Georgia’s hits came from Nick King to start the contest and a leadoff single by Keegan McGovern in the fifth. The only other baserunner for the Bulldogs was junior Stephen Wrenn, who drew a one out walk in the eighth. After Jones, senior Mike Mancuso and freshman Trevor Tinder pitched an inning apiece for the Bulldogs.The start of the game was delayed by 94 minutes due to inclement weather.
 
 
The series concludes Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m. on ESPN2 and available on the Georgia Bulldog Sports Network from IMG. Georgia will start sophomore left-hander Bo Tucker (3-3, 3.37 ERA) while the Gators counter with sophomore And toright-hander Alex Faedo (7-1, 3.67 ERA).
