Georgia vs Kentucky: Softball Regular Season Ends with Weekend Series

[su_spacer size=”20″] The No. 14/14 Georgia softball team will conclude its regular season this weekend, April 24-26, with a three-game series at No. 17/19 Kentucky. The Bulldogs enter the weekend with an overall record of 36-13 that includes an 11-9 mark in Southeastern Conference play. Kentucky is 29-17 overall and 5-13 in the SEC.

Georgia leads the all-time series with Kentucky 46-12. The last time the teams met was in the championship game of the SEC Tournament, which Georgia won by a score of 5-2. The Bulldogs swept the Wildcats in the regular-season series last year in Athens. This will be the first regular-season trip to Kentucky since 2012.

WALK IT OFF
Alex Hugo delivered the knockout blow to Georgia State on Wednesday when she hit a two-run home run that sealed the five-inning win for the Bulldogs. It was the first walk-off home run this season for Georgia.

Georgia has scored 15 runs in a game three times this season. Each of those games came against teams from the state of Georgia. The Bulldogs are 6-0 against team from the Peach State this year.

Georgia hit three home runs in a game for the second time this season in its 15-6 win over Georgia State on Wednesday. Each of the home runs were multi-run home runs. Kaylee Puailoa, Tina Iosefa and Alex Hugo each homered in the game.
