The No. 9 Georgia softball team (30-5, 4-2) continues its homestand this weekend, as No. 8 LSU (26-8, 3-6) comes to Athens for a three-game conference series.
 
 
Friday kicks things off with a six p.m. ET start with the first 300 fans receiving a free neon T-shirt. Saturday’s two p.m. ET game will have postgame autographs after while Sunday’s Lu’au Day begins at the same time with the first 300 to Jack Turner Stadium receiving a free Lu’au T-shirt.
 
 
All regular-season home games have free admission while the games on Friday and Sunday will be broadcast on SEC Network+/WatchESPN.

LAST TIME OUT: GEORGIA TECH
Moving into second on Georgia’s all-time strikeout list, Chelsea Wilkinson shined in Tuesday’s game, as No. 9 Georgia blanked Georgia Tech 5-0.

Wilkinson tossed 11 strikeouts with no hits allowed in five innings of work, as the senior now holds 794 strikeouts in her career. Wilkinson moved up to second place in Georgia’s record book, passing Natalie Price’s (1997-00) 792 strikeouts. The North Carolina native allowed just one baserunner, a lone walk to the game’s opening batter, sitting down the next 15.

Tina Iosefa continues to be a threat at the plate, as her two hits of the game came off of solo home runs in back-to-back batting appearances. Cortni Emanuel, Alyssa DiCarlo, and Samantha LaZear each had two hits apiece.
 
 
DICARLO EARNS SECOND SEC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
DiCarlo was named the SEC Freshman of the Week for the second time in three weeks, as announced on Monday. DiCarlo had a phenomenal five games last week, hitting .500 with a team-best 11 RBI. For the weekend alone, the third baseman put up a .545 average along with six hits and nine RBI. Against the Aggies, DiCarlo hit two home runs, including her first collegiate grand slam in game one to put the Bulldogs ahead for good. The Arizona native tied her career best in hits with three in the series opener while adding two more in game two along with three RBI.
 
 
IOSEFA TAKES OVER AS SEC HOME RUN LEADER
For the fifth time in her career, Iosefa sent two home runs out of the park in a single game, doing so in a 5-0 win over Georgia Tech. The hits helped Iosefa to a team-best 12 home runs, which is also the best in the SEC. The senior has had double-digit home runs in three of her four years, as her best number came as a freshman with 14. Iosefa is now sixth all-time in home runs with 44 in her career, now one behind Kristyn Sandberg at fifth and two behind Megan Wiggins at fourth.
 
 
CORTNI NOTCHES 40TH MULTI-HIT GAME OF CAREER
Cortni tabbed her 16th multi-hit game of the season against Georgia Tech after going 2-for-4 with an RBI. That marked the 40th time in her career to tally a multi-hit performance, as the sophomore had 24 in her first year. Cortni leads the SEC with a .487 batting average and 55 hits. The Texas native also set a school record with a 23-game hit streak. During that span, Cortni had 13 multi-hit games, including a 4-for-4 effort against Charleston Southern.
 
 
FICO TAKES ON ALMA MATER
Assistant coach Rachele Fico will face her alma mater this weekend, as Georgia takes on LSU. While at LSU, Fico was a two-time NFCA First-Team All-American, three-time NFCA All-South Region First-Team member, and three-time all-Southeastern Conference honoree. Fico completed her collegiate career among LSU’s top five in appearances (149), starts (104), complete games (82), innings pitched (774.0), wins (78), saves (8), opposing batting average (0.195), shutouts (32), strikeouts (797) and strikeouts per seven innings (7.21).
