The No. 8/8 Georgia softball team opened the Southeastern Conference portion of its schedule with a 6-1 win over Mississippi State on Friday, March 6 at the MSU Softball Field in Starkville, Miss. With the win, Georgia earned its 20th victory of the season to move to 20-2 on the year, including 1-0 in the SEC. Mississippi State is 17-4 on the year and 0-1 league play.
