The No. 10 Georgia Bulldogs (36-10, 9-6) ousted the No. 15 Tennessee Volunteers (33-11, 12-6), using an explosive second inning to win 6-2 on Monday night.
 
 
The win snapped a nine-game losing streak to the Vols for Georgia, as the Bulldogs’ last win was in the 2012 NCAA Super Regionals in Knoxville.
 
 
Alex Hugo and Lacey Sumerlin led the Georgia offense. Hugo had three RBIs on two hits while Sumerlin had one RBI on two hits. Sydni Emanuel also tallied a two-hit game, scoring two of the Bulldogs’ runs.
 
 
Chelsea Wilkinson (21-3) started in the circle for Georgia, and went 4.1 innings, giving up two runs and four hits with four strikeouts. Brittany Gray came on as relief in the fifth and finished the game, retiring all eight batters faced with five coming by way of strikeout.
 
 
Tennessee started Matty Moss (9-3) in the circle, but brought Bria Bush on in the second. Bush surrendered three runs on two hits and didn’t make it out of the inning, bringing Moss back in the game. Moss finished the night with seven hits and three runs allowed.
 
 
Georgia put one on the board early in the first, as S. Emanuel scored on a double from Hugo. However, the Bulldogs cracked the game open in the second, as five runs crossed the plate due to extra base hits by Sumerlin and Hugo, growing the Georgia lead to 6-0
 
 
The Vols earned their first hit of the game in the fourth, as Meghan Gregg broke up the Wilkinson no-hitter with a single before scoring on a Gretchen Aucoin double.  Tennessee added one more in the fifth with a one-out RBI single from Brooke Vines, their last base runner of the night.
 
 
The Bulldogs will take on in-state rival Georgia State on Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET at Jack Turner Stadium. All regular-season home games have free admission while it will air on SEC Network+/WatchESPN.
