The men’s basketball team is not the only one to be playing the Crimson Tide today. The Georgia women’s basketball team hosts Alabama at Stegeman Coliseum for a 7:00 p.m. ET tip off this evening for the Lady Bulldogs’ home finale.

 
 
THE OPENING TIP
 
Georgia welcomes Alabama to Stegeman Coliseum Thursday night for the team’s home finale. The first 250 students in attendance will receive a free Chick-Fil-A sandwich. There will also be a student raffle for ‘Beats’ headphones and a 32″ TV.
 
 
The Lady Bulldogs enter the contest as one of the hottest teams in the SEC having won four of their last six games this season. Among Georgia’s impressive wins, the team has knocked off Tennessee, LSU and Auburn in the same year for the first time since the 1996-97 campaign.
 
 
Sophomore forward and All-SEC nominee Caliya Robinson is the league’s best shot-blocker, with 64 total blocks this season. In the last six games, Robinson has averaged 18.8 ppg and 8.5 rpg and has scored in double figures in six-straight contests.
 
 
Senior guard/forward Pachis Roberts, who is also an All-SEC nominee, enters the game following a 28-point performance against LSU on Sunday. Roberts has put together a tremendous senior season and leads the team in both scoring and rebounding.
 
 
Georgia has won 24 of the last 26 meetings against Alabama and has not lost to the Crimson Tide in Athens since 1997. Alabama has won two of the last three meetings — both in Tuscaloosa.

SCOUTING ALABAMA
 
Alabama has put together a pair of impressive back-to-back wins against Tennessee and Auburn. The Crimson Tide is 17-10 overall and sits just behind the Lady Bulldogs in the SEC standings with a 5-9 league mark. Hannah Cook leads her team in scoring with her 11.5 points per game and 35.8 shooting percentage from behind the arc. Jordan Lewis, who has started all 27 games, is one the conference’s top freshmen, earning SEC Freshman of the Week honors four times this season.
