Thunderstorms forced most of Tuesday’s Camp Sunshine activities indoors, but inclement weather could not dampen the spirits of the Georgia football players, nor the campers. For years Georgia Football has been making the short trip from Athens to for the benefit of the campers, but the players never fail to mention the positive effect they receive from the experience.
Camp Sunshine is a summer camp that provides kids battling cancer an escape from their daily struggles with their disease. Everything needed by the patients (including the on-site continuation of their treatment) is available in the Camp’s bucolic setting.
Georgia’s athletes participate in various activities with the campers, including arts and crafts, visiting the Camp’s working radio station (with a three mile broadcast range), and of course, sports.
Since weather forced most activities into the gym, basketball, cornhole and the ever-popular dodgeball won the day.
