GOLF: UGA moves up to fifth for final round at Linger Longer Invitational at Great Waters Golf Course. The No. 2-ranked Georgia men’s golf team moved up six spots on the leaderboard with a solid performance in the second round on Monday. This came on the heels of having a rough outing on Sunday which had the Bulldogs looking at ten teams in front of them on the leaderboard.

The Bulldogs posted a score of 1-over-par 289 on Monday at Great Waters Golf Course at Reynolds Plantation, bringing their two-round total to 3-over 579. 12 shots stand between Georgia and Alabama, who holds the team lead after shooting a 3-under 285 in the second round for a total of 9-under 567.

Lee McCoy led the Bulldogs again Monday as he fired a 5-under 67. Sepp Straka shot an even-par 72, followed by Greyson Sigg with a 2-over 74 and Zach Healy at 4-over 76. Jack Larkin Jr. had Georgia’s non-counting score of 6-over 78.

McCoy’s two-round total of 7-under 137 has him atop the individual leaderboard and tied with Jimmy Stanger of Virginia. With the tournament concluding Tuesday, McCoy will be in search of his sixth career victory. Straka is among those tied for 13th entering the final round.

Competing as an individual, Tye Waller fired a 1-under 71 and is now tied for 16th. Fellow individual competitor Matthew Beringer shot 6-over 78.

The Linger Longer Invitational will conclude with Tuesday’s round, which will begin at 8:30 a.m. Live scoring can be found at GolfStat.com
