UGA men’s golf team senior Greyson Sigg blasted a 7-under-par 65 on Monday at the Great Waters Golf Course in the second round of the Linger Longer Invitational to move into first place.
On the par-72, 7,073-yard course layout, Sigg posted three birdies on the front nine and four on the back and his score of 65 matching a career-low loop. For the tournament, he is 12-under-par with a score of 132 after two rounds of play, putting him three shots ahead of Kennesaw State’s Chris Guglielmo.
The Sigg-led Bulldogs moved up two places on Monday to sixth as they fired an even-par 288 for a total of 3-under 573. Baylor has the team lead at 26-under 550, followed by Alabama and Virginia each at 9-under 567.
Freshman Spencer Ralston followed Sigg with a 2-under 70, while sophomore Tye Waller added a 3-over 75 and freshman Trevor Phillips signed for a 6-over 78. Junior Zach Healy had the Bulldogs’ non-counting score of 8-over 80.
Ralston improved to even-par 144 for the event, followed by Waller at 3-over 147, Phillips at 7-over 151 and Healy at 9-over 153.
Playing as individuals, senior Jaime Lopez Rivarola shot a 1-under 71, Jack Larkin Jr. had a 2-over 74 and freshman Will Chandler posted an 8-over 80 on Monday. Lopez Rivarola improved to 4-under 140, while Larkin is at 2-over 146 and Chandler is at 12-over 156.
The Georgia men’s golf team will conclude tournament play in the Linger Longer Invitational with today’s third and final round. Live results can be found at Golfstat.com.
