For the third time this season, University of Georgia gymnast Rachael Lukacs has been named the Southeastern Conference Gymnastics Freshman of the Week.
In the regular season finale against No. 6 Utah, Lukacs earned her season-high score of 9.950 and captured her first event title on vault, marking her eighth 9.900 or better for the event this season.
In her fifth time competing in the bars lineup, the Hillsborough, New Jersey native stuck her landing to match her high score of 9.825. Lukacs also contributed a 9.850 on floor to Georgia’s season best score of 197.525 and win over Utah.
Additionally, Lukacs is the only freshman on the Georgia team to have competed all four events this season.
Lukacs and the eighth-ranked GymDogs will compete at the SEC Championship Saturday, March 23 in New Orleans. As the three-seed, Georgia is placed in the evening session and will begin competition on beam at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
