Two of college gymnastics’ most storied programs will square off again on Saturday as the No. 9 Georgia Gymdogs visit No. 5 Utah to close out the regular season.
 
 
The meet at the Jon M. Huntsman Center will begin at 7 p.m. ET and can be seen on the Pac-12 Network.
 
 
Georgia and Utah each boast 10 national championships in their history. The Gymdogs hold a 27-22-1 advantage in the series.
 
 
“Getting to compete in Huntsman is unbelievable,” Georgia head coach Danna Durante said. “We know we’ll be in front of 15,000 fans, fans who are educated about gymnastics just like our fans. They get excited when they see good gymnastics. Georgia and Utah have a long-standing rivalry and history. Each team brings out the best in the other. We know a meet like this will prepare us well for what we’ll see in the postseason.”
 
 
Georgia is No. 2 nationally on vault, No. 8 on bars and No. 9 on floor heading into Saturday’s meet. Senior Brandie Jay is No. 4 on vault and No. 10 in the all-around, senior Brittany Rogers is No. 4 on bars and No. 6 on vault, and senior Mary Beth Box is No. 11 on floor and No. 15 on beam.
 
 
“We’ve talked about building and gaining momentum the last few weeks,” Box said.”I think we’ve been able to do that. The meet at Utah gives us another opportunity.”
 
 
The Gymdogs are coming off a busy weekend. Georgia had its regular-season home finale last Friday against Auburn, then traveled to Los Angeles for a Sunday tri meet with UCLA and Stanford. Since Georgia has been on spring break this week, the Gymdogs spent Monday through Wednesday in California and arrived in Utah on Thursday.
 
 
“The NCAA meet is two days back-to-back, so having Auburn, UCLA and Stanford in a three-day span with a cross-country flight in between was great preparation,” Durante said. “The NCAAs will not be harder than that.”
