Georgia gymnast Mary Beth Box has been named the SEC Specialist of the week following her performance over the weekend, according to an announcement Tuesday by the league office.
 
 
The senior from Calhoun, Ga., had two individual wins in Athens against Auburn on Friday and in Los Angeles against Stanford and UCLA on Sunday.
 
 
On Friday, as she was part of the Senior Day festivities, Box won the beam title with a 9.925 and she added a runner-up finish on floor with a 9.925. She helped the Gymdogs roll up a 197.275, their second-highest home score of the season.
 
 
Then on Sunday, Box won the floor with a 9.95 and was second on beam with a 9.95 as Georgia wound up at 197.025, their top road score of the year.
 
 
Box is nationally ranked No. 11 on floor and No. 15 on beam this week.
 
 
Box also was chosen as the SEC Specialist of the Week on Feb. 9.
 
 
The No. 9 Gymdogs will visit No. 5 Utah on Saturday at 7 p.m.
