The No. 10 seed Georgia GymDogs are headed to the NCAA Seattle Regional this weekend, April 3-6, at the Alaska Airlines Arena. Georgia will face No. 7 seed Missouri on Friday, April 4 in the second round at 4 p.m. ET. If the GymDogs defeat Missouri, they will advance to the Regional Final at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 6.

In their most recent event, the Georgia GymDogs tied for third place in the 2025 SEC Gymnastics Championships in Birmingham, Alabama on March 22. Sophomore Lily Smith tied for first on the floor event in session I with a 9.925 and finished eighth overall in the floor competition.

Smith has been named to the All-SEC team based on her bars performance this season, as she was among the top eight scorers in the conference. Smith will certainly be a key gymnast to keep an eye on this upcoming weekend.

Freshman Nyla Aquino, another gymnast to focus on, just earned herself a spot on the All-Freshman Team from her vault and floor routines throughout the season. Aquino was among the top four SEC freshmen in these events. Aquino just recorded her third-highest career vault with a 9.875 in the 2025 SEC Gymnastics Championship.

Going into a tough battle this weekend, there is hope with the leadership on the coaching staff. With co-head coach Ryan Roberts, the GymDogs were ranked No. 18 in 2024 with a national qualifying score of 197.425. Georgia received the 12th highest regional score around the country last year, which moved them up seven places from 2023. Co-head coach Cécile Canqueteau-Landi just joined Georgia in August, but has had major success coaching Team USA to a Gold Medal in Paris and Simone Biles.

Georgia has made 40 regional appearances, taking home 24 regional championships. The team has also finished in second place 12 times. The last time that Georgia advanced to the NCAA Championship was in 2019 through the Athens Regional with a score of 198.050.
