The meet will kick off the first season for the GymDogs under head coach Courtney Kupets Carter.
“We are so excited to start the season,” Kupets Carter said. “This team might not feel the contention as much as I do because it was more of a rivalry back then. They’re going to feel my energy with that. I’ve come in to the gym all week with a pep in my step and the team has fed off of that. I’m excited. They’re ready. We 100-percent believe in their capabilities and that’s our message to them- we believe in them and we want them to believe in themselves.”
The GymDogs and Crimson Tide were familiar opponents a year ago, as the two teams met three times throughout the season. The teams met once during the regular season and twice during the postseason with Alabama claiming the wins.
All-time, Georgia leads the series against Alabama by an 80-62-2 tally.
