Tenth-ranked Georgia will compete in the NCAA Berkeley Regional Saturday, April 4 at 9 p.m. ET at Cal’s Haas Pavilion. The No. 2-seeded Gymdogs and five other teams will be vying for two spots in the NCAA Championships April 17-19 in Fort Worth, Texas. Joining the Gymdogs in Berkeley will be No. 3 Utah, No. 15 Boise State, No. 20 Cal, Utah State and BYU.

UGA’s rotation in the regional will be bye, bars, beam, bye, floor, vault. Utah will start on bars, Boise State on beam, Cal on bye before floor, Utah State on vault and BYU on floor. Ten-time NCAA champion Georgia has won a total of 23 NCAA regionals, including 13 in the last 17 years.

The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors who are not on an advancing team from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the national championships. The top two teams from the Cal, West Virginia and Ohio State regionals will compete in first prelim on April 17, and the top two teams from the Auburn, Oklahoma and Iowa State regionals will compete in the evening session.

Georgia placed first in the afternoon session and fifth overall with a 196.000 in the SEC Championship in Duluth, Ga., March 21. The Gymdogs were on pace for a 197.000 at the halfway point, but had to count two falls on beam. Georgia finished with a 49.350 on floor in the fourth rotation to climb three spots in the final standings.

Florida led the way with six gymnasts earning SEC honors, followed by Georgia with five, then Alabama and LSU with four each. Georgia and Florida had the most representatives on the All-Freshman team with two. The All-SEC and All-Freshman teams are based on results at the SEC Championship.
