The SEC announced its broadcast schedule for the 2018 gymnastics season on Thursday, unveiling a bolstered slate of live televised meets for 2018.
Georgia will be televised live on the SEC Network five of its seven conference meets during the regular season. Four of those will be as part of the network’s “Friday Night Heights” promotion, with the lone exception being its Saturday afternoon contest against Missouri (Feb. 3, 2 p.m.).
“We are grateful the SEC continues to increase its incredible coverage of gymnastics,” Georgia head coach Courtney Kupets Carter said. “This sport always brings a great atmosphere at meets, especially in the newly-renovated Stegeman Coliseum, and we love that fans from all over can experience it. We look forward to showcasing Georgia gymnastics in households all over the country.”
The GymDogs open the season on the SEC Network at Alabama (Jan. 12, 8:30 p.m.). After hosting Oklahoma (Jan. 15) and Auburn (Jan. 19) in Athens, Georgia will return to the network on Friday, Jan. 26 on the road at Arkansas and appear again when the team hosts Missouri on Feb. 3 at 2 p.m.
Georgia hosts Kentucky on Friday, Feb. 9, a week before the GymDogs appear on “Friday Night Heights” two-straight weeks as they host Florida (Feb. 16, 7 p.m.) and LSU (Feb. 23, 7 p.m.).
Additionally, one meet will be aired a re-run on ESPNU: the Missouri meet from Feb. 3 on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 6 p.m.
The SEC Championships on March 24 will be split on separate networks, with the early session airing on the SEC Network at 3 p.m. and the night session on ESPN2 at 7 p.m.
