ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia gymnastics team is set to compete in the first session of the SEC Championship on Saturday, March 24, in St. Louis, Missouri.
The No. 18 GymDogs will face No. 11 Arkansas, No. 16 Auburn, and No. 21 Missouri. The meet will be the last chance for all teams to improve their RQS marks prior to NCAA regional seeding. The NCAA Selection Show will be streamed Monday, March 26th, at 4:00 PM ET on NCAA.com.
Georgia enters the championship meet with a RQS of 196.470 after concluding regular action with a high score of 197.525 in the win against Boise State and a 196.350 for the highest road score of the season at Utah.
All-time, Georgia leads the SEC with 16 team titles and 101 event championships. The GymDogs last won the conference championship in 2008 before going on to win their fourth-consecutive NCAA title.
Competition in session I will begin at 3p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on the SEC Network, followed by session II at 7p.m. ET on ESPN2.

GYMDOGS IN THE RANKINGS
Georgia moved two spots to No. 18 in the latest RQS rankings on the RoadtoNationals.com website with an RQS of 196.470.
The GymDogs rank 21st on vault, 15th on bars, 12th on beam, and 15th on floor.
Seven GymDogs hold 15 spots within the top-100 in the nation of their respective events, based on RQS.
For vault, Lauren Johnson jumped to 28 and Sydney Snead follows at 39th, while Rachel Dickson is 79th.
Dickson is ranked No. 38 on bars. Marissa Oakley moved to No. 43 and Snead sits at No. 51. Natalie Vaculik checks in at No. 97.
Sabrina Vega and Vivi Babalis are tied for 48th on beam. Snead holds the 56th spot, while Dickson is ranked No. 78.
On floor, Vega ranks 21st, while Snead holds the 32nd spot and Dickson sits at No. 37.
Additionally, Dickson is ranked No. 20 in the all-around rankings, while Snead comes in at No. 27 this week.

All of Georgia’s contributing gymnasts have hit at least one season high mark within the last five meets of the season.

GYMDOGS PEAKING ENTERING POSTSEASON
The GymDogs have stepped their game up at the right time, producing their best score and best road score over the last two weeks of the season.
Georgia scored a 197.525 in the home finale against Boise State on March 10 prior to a 196.350 at Utah.
SEC HONORS WATCH
The GymDogs boast one gymnast with a SEC event championship, Lauren Johnson, who won the vault championship in 2014.
In total, four GymDogs have earned All-SEC honors in their career. Johnson was named to the All-SEC and Freshman All-SEC teams in 2014 and again 2017. Gigi Marino was a first-team and freshman team selection in 2015. Natalie Vaculik and Sydney Snead earned Freshman All-SEC honors in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Snead also earned All-SEC honors in 2017 after earning a 9.9 on bars.
HITTING ATTENDANCE RECORDS
Over the regular season, the GymDogs brought in an average of 10,102 fans per meet, the highest number in program history. This breaks the attendance record of 10,055 set a season ago.
In six home meets this season, Georgia’s average of 10,102 fans ranks fourth-best in the nation, behind Utah, LSU, and Alabama, although the GymDogs are closest to reaching capacity at their facility. Stegeman Coliseum holds a capacity of 10.284.
Georgia’s average gymnastics attendance is fifth-best among all women’s winter sports, behind three gymnastics teams and South Carolina’s women’s basketball program (13,239).
