Opinions are mixed on Jacob Eason, to say the least. The word “bust” has even been thrown out recently, but Georgia’s staff certainly has not lost faith in the sophomore quarterback.

Eason met with the press last week and offered a frank assessment of his struggles in 2017 and his expectations moving forward.

“I feel better. I feel like I know what to do with the ball,”
[…] “A lot of that last year was just the playbook, you know, coming from high school – spread offense – and coming under center, learning how to take a snap under center and make a read against an SEC defense. This year, having that season under my belt, going from that inexperience I was last year to this year has been a huge deal.”

When asked how much more control he has this year, Eason replied:

“They’re giving me a lot more control with that, and I feel a lot more comfortable than I would’ve last year – because last year I was still trying to figure out which way to turn when giving a handoff and all that stuff.”

Eason certainly provided ammunition for the armchair quarterbacks last season, but he is continuing to make progress this spring – and Houston County true freshman Jake Fromm is providing a push for the Pacific Northwest product.
