Jacob Eason was asked in a recent interview to describe his relationship with true freshman, early enrollee Jake Fromm:
“Jake’s a great kid. He’s coming in; he’s hot, he’s ready to go out and practice. He is a great learner, and he’s a great athlete. He comes in, he pushes me, and I push him. We are good friends. In the short time he’s been here, I’ve got nothing but good words to say about him.”
When asked how Fromm is pushing him, Eason said:
“He’s a smart kid, he learns fast. He’s a baller too, he goes out there makes plays, and he’s not afraid of the moment – that’s a good thing for a quarterback. I’m excited for the next couple years with him.”
One interesting thing about the last sentence of Eason is the “next couple of years” remark. One could take that to mean that Eason already is thinking about moving on to the NFL after his junior season. Of course, he probably meant 2018 and 2019 as the “next couple of years,” right? Right!
