One Georgia football player hit a benchmark in his collegiate career unceremoniously and quietly last Saturday during the Bulldogs 23-17 win over Notre Dame. In the process of Jake Fromm completing 20-of-26 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown, the junior quarterback has now passed for over 6,000 yards. To be exact, Fromm has passed for 6,152 yards.

And for University of Georgia quarterbacks, that puts him at No. 7 in all-time career passing yards in school history. Fromm is chasing former Bulldog quarterback Mike Bobo (1994-1997) who is currently sixth all-time in school history with 6,334 passing yards as well as Quincy Carter (1998-2000) who sits at No. 5 on the list with 6,447 passing yards.

This season, Fromm also has the chance to catch former Georgia gunslinger Matthew Stafford (2006-2008) who is fourth all-time in school history in passing yards with 7,731 yards. But in order to have a shot to supplant any of the top-three, Fromm would likely have to return for his senior season. Who are the top-three Bulldog signal-callers?

  • 1. Aaron Murray – 13,166 passing yards
  • 2. David Greene – 11,528 passing yards
  • 3. Eric Zeier – 11,153 passing yards

In his career so far, Jake Fromm has completed 449 of 679 passing attempts, which is a completion percentage of 66.12%, for 6,152 yards, averaging 9.1 YPA, and 60 touchdowns to just 13 interceptions. Up next for Fromm and Georgia, the Bulldogs hit the road to take on the Volunteers up in Knoxville, TN.
