Quarterback Jake Fromm helped guide Georgia to a 43-14 win over Tennessee on Saturday in Knoxville. The junior signal-caller completed 24-of-29 passes for 288 yards and two touchdowns to no interceptions, picking apart the Volunteer defense with surgical precision.

“Part of the game plan was to go out and let’s attack them,” said Fromm. “And take advantage of the players they (Tennessee) had out there.”

And Fromm did just that, spreading the ball around to 9 different Bulldog receivers, which Kirby made sure to address in his post-game press conference.

“I think Jake has confidence in all our wideouts. All our wideouts are doing a really good job and a lot of guys caught balls. Jake spreads the wealth and when guys catch the ball you’re talking about D’Andre Swift, James Cook, Matt Landers,” said Kirby Smart. “We’ve got a lot of guys who catch the ball that are hard to tackle. When you spread the ball around it makes you a more efficient team and Jake did a nice job of that.”

Fromm was quick to point out that the offensive did a great job of pass protection given himself and the rest of the offense time to go to work.

“I think the offensive line did a great job of holding up the pass protection all night,” said Jake. “And guys went out and plays tonight.”

Fromm added: “We wanted to attack them upfront. Physically, we feel with our offensive line we can go out and out-physical anybody. The receivers, in general, went out and took advantage of matchups and played really well.“
