Georgia football had two players named to the Associated Press All-Bowl Team following the Bulldogs’ 24-21 win over No. 8 Cincinnati in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.
Redshirt sophomores Azeez Ojulari (Marietta, Ga.) and Jack Podlesny (St. Simons Island, Ga.) are two of eight players from the Southeastern Conference on the squad. Georgia is one of only four teams in the country with two players included.
Ojulari, an outside linebacker, collected three sacks and forced a pair of fumbles, including one on the final play that delivered Georgia a safety. Ojulari’s other sack-strip came in the fourth quarter as well and it set up the Bulldogs’ second touchdown that pulled them within five points of the Bearcats.
Podlesny, a place-kicker, was named the bowl’s MVP on offense after drilling all three of his field goals. His third kick was a career-long 53 yarder that set a bowl record and put the Bulldogs up by a point with two seconds remaining. This marked Podlesny’s first game winner and was the longest game winner for Georgia since 1984 (Kevin Butler, 60 yarder, No. 2 Clemson).
