Less than two weeks after the photo above was taken, Jonathan Ledbetter was arrested in Athens and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Ledbetter will be suspended in accordance with Georgia’s disciplinary policy. That policy requires missing ten percent of the season – usually interpreted as two games.
According to ESPN’s Chris Lowe, Coach Smart has not decided on the length of Ledbetter’s punishment. The July incident was his second this year. In March he was charged with underage possession of alcohol and possession of a fake ID. Even though those charges were dropped, Smart may choose to consider that incident as he deliberates Ledbetter’s suspension.
Smart said DL Jonathan Ledbetter would be suspended for at least 2 games and hinted it could be more. Depth in DL is Smart's big concern.
