It’s a decision that has been scheduled for a number of weeks now and came down to Alabama, Georgia, LSU, and Ohio State out of 40 scholarship offers. On Monday, shortly after the clock struck 8:00 p.m. EST, Buchanan High School Class of 2020 running back Kendall Milton announced his decision between those four programs choosing the Bulldawgs.

Before arriving at his decision, Milton had taken official visits to all four of his top schools starting with the Buckeyes on May 31st and ending with the Crimson Tide on June 21st. He then headed out to Frisco, TX to participate and compete in The Opening Finals during the week of the 4th of July.

The Clovis, CA athlete’s commitment gives UGA it’s 16th for the 2020 recruiting class. Milton is a 6-foot-1.5 and 229 lbs five-star prospect per 247Sports, ranked as the No. 4 RB and the No. 3 player overall out of the state of California, No. 22 overall nationally. Rivals also rates Milton as a 5-star prospect and have him as the No. 2 RB in this class, the No. 3 player overall from California and the No. 20 player overall nationally

I know there are going to be fans who look at Milton’s 40-yard time that he ran back in May at The Opening Regionals, a 4.79-second 40, but at The Opening Finals just a few weeks later, he posted an official 4.59-second 40. Regardless of whatever 40-time he runs, Georgia is getting a powerful runner at tailback in Milton who has the agility to break a defenders ankles making them grab air. Over the last two years for the Bears, he has carried the ball 349 times for 2,851 yards, averaging 8.16 YPC, and scoring 50 touchdowns. Milton’s size combined with the way he runs reminds me of former UGA RB Lars Tate who played for the Bulldawgs from 1984-1987.
