Offensive Player
Nate Frazier, Jr. – The California Kid did it again with an overtime touchdown for the ages. Nate’s TD in the 8th overtime sealed the victory in the second longest game in college football history. The freshman has been getting better with each carry and the Yellow bellies were determined to stop the Dawgs. Nate had other plans. He had 11 carries for 50 yards, battling for every yard. A 4.5 yard average was a great performance, and it was needed. Now on to the Horns!
Defensive Player
Dan Jackson – From walk-on to hero, Dan has done it all in his career for the Dawgs. Friday night was the best of the best for Dan. His six tackles and four solos was out done by his tremendous hit he laid on the Tech quarterback Haynes King, which knocked the ball loose in what was the biggest play of the game and maybe the year. The Dawgs took advantage of the fumble and proceeded to take the game to OT… We know how that ended. We own this STATE! Thank you, Dan!
Special team Player
Entire Special Teams Group – The overall play of the special teams proved to compliment the offense and defense. Thorson once again punted well and gave the defense a fighting chance while the wind was minimized with good coverage and respect for the opponent. We need these fighters to play hard against Texas.
Unsung Hero of the Game
Mary Beth Smart – Mary Beth Smart keeps King Kirby in the right frame of mind as the week gets closer to game time… MB was confident in the coaches’ preparation and that puts her in a great mood. The first lady of Georgia football can spread confidence throughout Dawg Nation… When MB says we are ready to go, good times are on the way… And what a good year this is going to be, running the state of Georgia again!
