The Bulldogs have one of the most talented backfields in the country from top to bottom and head coach Kirby Smart understands how special this group is.
 

The Bulldogs are coming off of one of their best rushing performances of the season as they scored four touchdowns on the ground against the Florida Gators, which tied the amount the Gators had given up all season long. The Bulldogs are now ranked 10th in the country in rushing yards and have two running backs in seniors Nick Chubb and Sony Michel over 500 yards. Chubb has 765 yards on the season and Michel 629. Freshman D’Andre Swift is also quickly approaching this feat as well with 366 rushing yards on the season so far. Swift is averaging just over 45 yards per game, and if he does that over Georgia’s last four regular season games, he’ll also clear the 500-yard demarcation line.
 
 
This group is one of the most talented in the country and they continue to be the main contributor to the Bulldogs offensive success. Georgia relies heavily on the play of this group and the ability to use all of these running backs throughout the game not only brings a change of pace but allows these players to remain fresh. Smart understands how special it is to have such a strong group of backs.
 
 

“There’s not really an ego in that group, so I think it’s a good thing to have. I don’t really think of it as a big luxury because everywhere I’ve been there have been good backs,” said Smart. “It’s probably deeper. I mean, when you start talking about 5-deep. I’ve been around a lot of good 4-man rotations, but five is pretty special.”

 
 
The Bulldogs will continue to utilize their rushing attack as often as they possibly can and if they can continue to have the same success, then this team could be well on their way to having a very special second season under head coach Kirby Smart.
